The Italian Project & more...

Yeah, I know it's been too long...I've been holed up in the studio finishing The Italian Project.  So excited....had the honor of working with some of the BEST musicians in Boston (and beyond for that matter).  Dave Buda on bass, Steve Chaggaris on drums, and Doug Hammer on piano, keys, and a variety of native percussion instruments that he keeps stashed in his closet.  But seriously, wait until you hear these tracks.  Just sent the album to be printed yesterday, so it should be available in the next few weeks, just in time for Christmas (makes a perfect stocking stuffer!!)

There is a little something for everyone...from 1950's Italian Jazz/Swing (who can forget all those Sophia Loren and Audrey Hepburn movies?) to Italian versions of I Put A Spell on You and Killing Me Softly With His Song, and plenty of contemporary pop tunes too.  Of course, I didn't forget my roots.  Those who have seen my show know that I can't go one evening without Come Back to Sorrento.  I just can't.  Then there is the Rat Pack classic Volare and since I've got Dino's picture in my home studio, I kinda had to do it.

Also want to thank Mayor David Maher of Cambridge, MA for the opportunity to provide the music for the annual Italian Heritage event in October.  Had a blast with the one and only Al Vega.  Speaking of Al, I was honored to sing at the dedication of the Al Vega Square in Everett, MA.  Not bad for a 90 year old who acts like he's 25.  I'll have what he's having.
